This event will be held Friday, March 30, 2007 in the Knoxville Convention and Exhibition Center (KCEC) in Exhibit Hall 3. The rules for this event follow the national event rules. A technical paper, Earth Wall Design Paper, is to be submitted. Five paper copies along with a CD with PDF and MS Word files of the paper are to be submitted to Dr. Dayakar Penumadu. Question: When will samples be mailed?

Answer: In order to obtian a sample please contact Wes MacDonald at wmacdona@utk.edu with your chapter's mailing address and a contact.

Question: Are we supposed to use A-C plywood or B-C plywood for the sandbox?

Answer: As stated in the rules, please use AC.

Question: How will the reinforcement Kraft paper be received by each team in the competition, will it be a whole area of paper equal to the area specified in the design paper and we would have to cut the strips ourselves, or will the strips already be cut?

Answer: Each team will be given a rectangular area of paper that they need to specify the dimensions to prior to the competition. This will be the area of paper
applied to the scoring equation. (i.e. 4" x 25" = 100 sq. in.) During the
construction time the teams will have to cut their strips out of this area.
This area should include any portion of the paper that will be taped to the poster board.

Question: During the stage of construction, can we use a cylinder to fill sand? The cylinder is the one which is used to whitewash a wall.

Answer: Yes.
